Life is about forward motion.  Taking steps.  Learning and growing.  Perhaps the greatest obstacle to moving forward is bitterness.

Okay, I'm slow, but I just realized that this Sunday is our six month anniversary as a church. It's the same Sunday we go to two services. It's almost like we planned that or something! God is so good!

Here's several things you need to know:

1. This Sunday. Two services; 8:30 and 10:30. Now we have room to invite our friends and neighbors who don't go to church! Both services will be the same. Pick one and bring a friend.

2. This week we begin a new series called "Godspeak". We will discover how we encounter and hear from God.

3. Several have asked about future building plans for Grace and whether there is a building fund for the church. The answer is yes! We are setting aside money that comes in over and above our budget for whatever purposes God has planned for us. The day may come soon when the church will need to be prepared to make offers on land purchases. It is not too early to be giving.

4. If you intended to be in a small group, but missed the sign ups, email Ron at ron@gcomchurch.com. We have a few open spaces in existing groups. These groups meet on Sunday evenings.

5. Check out the new church Myspace at www.myspace.com/gcomchurch. This is just another way to reach people. You can continue to follow the activities of Grace at the website www.gcomchurch.com.

6. You are a huge part of a the miracle of Grace! Thanks!

Grace to you!
Ron

Was last week powerful or what! Dr. Kent Hughes did an incredible job sharing the joys and struggles of the relationship between parents and children. If you missed last week's message, check out the website podcast. It will be a great investment of your time.

Speaking of children, do any of you have any used toys you would be willing to give to the Grace Community? Our pre-school ministry needs the following: baby-swings, pack-n-plays, cd players, bouncy seats, and toys for the little ones (1-2 year olds) and for the bigger kids (3-4 year olds).

If you can make a donation, contact Donna Pittman, our pre-school ministry director, by Clicking Here.

See you Sunday.

Chad and Ron

P.S. We are also in need of any pictures you may have of GCC events, worship services, etc. for our webpage and some new developments in the works. Send pics by Clicking Here.

Graced Friends:

Winters in Tennessee. Nothing like them. Snow on Friday. Sixty degrees on Tuesday. Coats on Sunday. Shorts on Thursday. Sounds a lot like relationships. Unpredictable! Gather with us this Sunday for a closer look into the struggles of parent-child relationships.

On a more serious note, this week we grieve with Rick Hurst as he mourns the passing of his mother. Rick shared with me how his mother spent her final moments. Get this. As he sensed the time approaching, Rick picked up his guitar and sat at his mother's bedside. He sang and played her favorite hymns, all of which were about heaven, until she was at last in the presence of the Lord. We should all be so blessed as to have our children sit at our bedside and play background music as we journey to Jesus. Rick, we hurt with you. We rejoice with you. And we are all thankful to have you in our lives.

See you Sunday.

Graced Friends,

We have only 4 more weeks until we begin our new Sunday line-up. The times will be 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM. The services will be identical so don't try to be "Super Christians" and attend both. Ron and I thank you for being so patient during this transition. We recognize that parking and finding seats on Sunday mornings are a little stressful. Just hang in there a few more weeks. Help is on the way (March 12 to be exact). Our new series, "We Will Dance," is going to be a blast. Last week kicked it off in fine fashion. Congratulations to Brandon and Sarah on their engagement. What if she had said, "no?" What a nightmare that would have been. This week, Ron is going to address the struggles of blending dreams, hopes, aspirations, talents, abilities, families, and homes, in a marriage relationship. Hope you'll be there.

Please be in prayer for our missionary friends to Mexico, Craig and Lori Clayton. They were in our services before Christmas. Craig and Lori's children were almost kidnapped today. This has obviously made them more cautious of their surroundings. Please pray for their safety and the continued blessing on their ministry in Celaya, Mexico.

To learn more about Craig and Lori's mission work in Celaya, Mexico, please visit Pray For Celaya.

Graced friends,

What an awesome start to the New Year we have had! Thank you for your faithfulness to the vision. You are inviting your friends and neighbors to experience what God is doing among us and the response is overwhelming! Continue to reach out to those you know who need Grace!

This week will be the last opportunity to sign up for the first session of small groups to begin soon and for the currently scheduled membership classes. If you want to be in a small group or attend a scheduled membership class we need to hear from you. Please don't assume we are including you in the number. You can reply by email. The membership class for February 26th still has slots available.

This week we will be videotaping the service. This is a practice for someday when we will be able to view services on the podcast. Please don't be alarmed by the camera!

The month of February will be a focus on marriage and the home. This will be a great time to invite your friends. With that in mind, don't forget the Grace Gala, February 18th, 7 PM to 10 PM, semi-formal, cost $30 per person. Our intent of the series and the gala is to strengthen marriages. (If you need help with the cost of the gala, please email pastors@gcomchurch.com This will be kept confidential.) Buy your tickets this Sunday.

If you have missed any of the ministry strategy sermons from this month, please listen to them on the podcast. (www.gcomchurch.com) Also, while you are there, take time to comment on the podcast site. This will add enthusiasm to the site. This site is currently very active on the web, literally around the world!

If you have been praying about baptism or have questions about your salvation and need to talk with someone, please email pastors@gcomchurch.com,

As we hinted Sunday, we have a special announcement this Sunday. You don't want to miss!

We look forward to seeing you again Sunday!

Please continue to pray for our deployed soldiers and their families. These are scary, uncertain days for them. We have several of our families who are being directly affected by this current deployment and the ongoing war.
